New Year's Eve with Hippolyt

The Harag György Company presents on 29th of December musical comedy Hippolyt, the lackey.

„Hippolyt is a good taste humorous musical performance, which in many ways goes beyond the boundaries of a classical operetta or a musical farce. With great ease of manners, but nevertheless, it raises important social issues, the characters are multi-layered built and passes through a significant character development during the play. At the beginning, we honestly believe, that the originally written director, my father, Bessenyei István will set it on the stage, as well as in the past years. His still incomprehensible departure has left us a great responsibility: to create a performance worthy of his memory…
According to witword, I took myself this burden and responsible mission of director, asking Bordás Attilát to help me, whom seven years ago, we were classmates, director department.
So it was that we, who working for years with my father as dramaturg and choreographer, now, we had to move in his place during the process. Fortunately, we inherited excellent cast, both in the professional and moral sense of the word. Despite of the incredibly short time we had at, the whole creative team worked with great energy to make a performance worth of your memory, but, above all, loved audience, which he also served in his entire life. It's weird, and mostly just silly platitudes defined, but the real feeling possessed me at times: during the rehearsal process many times I felt like, that he's there with us, the creative spirit, at least his strict humility. In this sense, I see it in myself, that this performance is the last work together. that's why we decided, to offer his memory we the production.” – said Bessenyei Gedő István, director and the artistic director of The Harag György.

„I felt obliged to take on this work process, having been working with István Bessenye for four years already, to create New Year's Eve performances. This would have been the fifth time, and somewhere I feel, that actually became. We talked a lot about this, and I feel, that somewhere inside of me lived the spirit while we worked the performance, I felt like helping the performance from somewhere, where he is now, by what he left behind. Sometimes I get the feeling, to he watches our work silently, instructing us without words.” – said Bordás Attila, the co-director and choreographer of the performance.

The performance will be played three times on the occasion of the end of the year. All those who are interested can purchase tickets for new year performances, depending on the remaining seats.
